Dennis M. Chinchilla
Civil Engineer / Merchant Marine Captain. Has ample experience (30 years) in Maritime Safety affairs, application and compliance with International Maritime Conventions. His academic background and professional trajectory have allowed him to be assigned in relevant positions in the Public Administration and Private Sector, as well as participation as speaker in national and international conferences. He has been appointed in a number of delegations as representative of the Honduran Government at international and regional organizations such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Interamerican Committee on Ports (ICP/OAS).
He has lectured in different educational institutions (Universities), as well as public and private regional institutions on topics related to the maritime field and international maritime legal instruments. On ISPS related matters, formed part of the consulting team assigned to the implementation of the ISPS Code in Honduras, and was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Port Security Commission for 6 years.
